Program Director:
This will be Jeff's 10th year as Program Director of SIJYC. During the rest of the year, he coaches the Connecticut College Camel Sailing Team whose women's team went to nationals in San Francisco in 2010. It has been said that he is one of the most inspiring coaches in College Sailing. He has been married to his wife Holly for 11 years and has two children in the program, Molly and Charlie.

Program Administrator: Karen is back for her 3rd year as Program Administrator. During the school year, Karen is the Dean of Students at Convent of the Sacred Heart in Greenwich, CT. She has summered out on Shelter Island for her whole life and loves being at SIJYC!

Christie Clothier
SIYC is happy to welcome back Christie for her fourth year as a coach of Opti 2 and Opti 3. She just graduated Connecticut College where she is a history major and also was a member of the Conn College Camel Sailing Team. Christie grew up in the Cold Spring Harbor Sailing Program where Jeff Bresnahan taught her how to sail JYs, and the rest is history. She likes the Disney Channel, Philadelphia and crocheting.
Claire Nolan
This is Claire’s 12th summer on the island and her 3nd year coaching in the program. Born and raised in Brooklyn, she has just finished up her sophomore year at Boston College where she hopes to eventually major in communication or economics. Claire’s favorite activities include smiling, drinking “cawfee” and speaking brooklynese. She will be coaching JYs and Opti IIIs.
Caleb Kenney
Returning for his 11th summer at the yacht club is master JI turned instructor Caleb Kenney. He just finished his freshmen year at Conneticut College. An avid artist, Caleb enjoys drawing, finger painting and writing haikus.
Hannah Littel
This is Hannah’s 3rd year coaching but 12th summer at the yacht club. She is a rising Senior at Hobart and William Smith Colleges and as an alumnus of the program, she uses the skills she has acquired to contribute as key member of the HWS varsity sailing
team. She is from Old Lyme CT, she loves her grandma and her favorite animal is the dolphin.
Sebastian Slayter
After setting a record for the most years in the SIJYC sailing program Sebastian Slayter has returned for his thirds summer as a coach for the 420 am and pm classes. Serving as an EMT Sebastian has first-hand knowledge of emergency situations, which will aid him in keeping his kids safe. As a rising Junior at NYU, his interests include studying film and taking long walks in central park. His favorite movie is A Muppet Christmas Carol because he relates so closely with Ms. Piggy’s portrayal of Mrs. Cratchet.
Marina Gluckman
Marina has just finished her sophomore year at the prestigious Connecticut College. After many years of sailing out of Orient Point Yacht Club, she now uses her talent on the Connecticut College sailing team under the leadership of the infamous Coach Bresnahan. Marina is from NYC and constantly smiles. Her favorite cereal is Lucky Charms because she loves seeing the leprechaun get outsmarted by the kids in the commercials.
Will Ricketson
Will Ricketson attends George Washington University and has just finished up his junior year. Another alumnus of the SIJYC program, he puts his skills to work in leading the GW sailing team. Though it started out as a small club team, Will has built it into one of the more competitive college teams in the Mid Atlantic region. From Westford, MA he will be teaching Lasers in the morning and afternoon this summer. A die hard fan of the Jonas Brothers he plans on taking a gap year to follow their tour around the world.

This is Tom's 4th year at SIYC out of the 5 summers on Shelter Island. Tom graduated with a degree in Adventure Education. This past winter he ran a sailing program in Kinston Jamacia. He is excited to be back again! Tom will be working with the Opti 1's in the morning and Opti's in the afternoon!

Atlantic Brugman
Atlantic is from Barcelona, Spain and will be a junior at Conn College next year. She followed Jeff to Shelter Island and is enjoying her first summer on the island! Atlantic will be coaching Opti 2 and Advanced this summer. She speaks French, Spanish, Catalan and Portuguese--Wow! Atlantic would still be sailing Opti's if she could!

Emilie is going to be a Senior at Eckerd next year and is from North Carolina. This is Emilie's first summer on Shelter Island and is loving it! Emilie has been coaching Lasers and has been an Opti Race Coach for the Past 3 years. She will be coaching both AM and PM Lasers this year!
